Hampshire Signs & Plastics have donated trays and whiteboards to Bury Lodge Nursing Home in Gosport.
Bury Lodge, of Bury Road, Gosport, is a specialist nursing home that care for those suffering from Dementia. The home is able to care for up to 22 residents, with 16 single bedrooms and 3 shared bedrooms.
The home’s two communal lounge/diners, allow residents to socialise, accept visitors and participate in a variety of different activities that are put on by the carers at the home. There are also two communal bathrooms and peaceful grounds in which the residents can relax.
Residents are able to bring with them, pets by arrangement. There is some research and suggestion that pets may help patients with some of the obstacles observable in Dementia conditions such as isolation and anxiety.
In total, Hampshire Signs & Plastics donated 6 trays and 6 boards. The trays are designed with raised edges, meaning any activities carried out on the trays such as jigsaw puzzles and beadwork, will stay on the tray. The boards can be used with a dry wipe marker as a white board, and can be used for writing, drawing and in group activities.
