Hampshire Signs & Plastics Manufacture M.Y. Leander Windows
With an excellent reputation within the marine industry, Hampshire Signs & Plastics were recently commissioned to manufacture 27 replacement windows aboard the 75m Superyacht, M.Y. Leander, one of the world’s most expensive charter yachts.
The luxury liner, owned by Sir David Gosling, boasts 10 suites, gym, Jacuzzi, pool & a helipad across 6 decks as well as accommodation and work spaces for the yacht’s crew of 24. It has been frequented by royalty & celebrities alike, including Prince Charles & the Duchess of Cornwall after the decommissioning of Royal Yacht Britannia.
Up until 2004, it was recognised as the world’s most expensive charter yacht, costing upward of around £300,000 a week private charter, plus expenses.
With such prestige, it was an honour for Hampshire Signs & Plastics to have been asked to manufacture their replacement windows. All window were manufactured from clear, cast acrylic. Cast acrylic is the obvious choice when replacing boat windows, due to it’s lightweight, high impact, UV resistant properties. Acrylic is available in a different variety colours, tints & thicknesses, making it suitable to most boating plastic requirements.
